PTI likely to get 25 seats reserved for women, two for minorities

"We wanted that the new prime minister should take his oath on Independence Day so that the new government can start its functioning with full national fervour and commitment to bring progress to the country", he said.

It has the largest chunk of 15 reserved seats for women in the National Assembly (NA) from Punjab followed by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) with seven seats and Sindh with three.

Days after Imran Khan's party Pakistan-Tehreek-e-Insaaf bagged maximum seats in the general elections, paving his way for becoming the next Prime Minister of the country, massive turbulence has hit Pakistan politics. A party can only form the government if it manages to clinch 172 seats in total. The MQM-P will be given portfolios of Ministry of Ports and Shipping and Ministry of Labour and Manpower.

Faisal said that the PTI also announced that no foreign leaders would attend the oath-taking ceremony.

"Imran Khan will be formally announced as the party's nominee for premier during the meeting", Chaudhry said.

They added that Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) will be given a federal ministry for their support in the centre, whereas the PTI will support BAP in getting its chief minister elected in Balochistan.

"It is an alliance which is against the rigged elections, and where all the political parties were not provided a free and fair, level playing field", said Maryam Aurangzeb, speaking for the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) of jailed ex-prime minister Nawaz Sharif.

The two parties reached the agreement following a meeting at Bani Gala residence of PTI chief Imran Khan.

PTI and MQM-P signed a nine-point memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the formation of government in the Centre on Friday.
