U.S., Russian Federation will ‘work jointly’ to ensure Israel’s security

"This answer by President Trump will be seen by Russian Federation as a sign of weakness and create far more problems than it solves".

US President Donald Trump (L) and Russia's President Vladimir Putin attend a joint press conference after a meeting at the Presidential Palace in Helsinki, on July 16, 2018.

If anyone is "the enemy of the people", it is Trump himself.

Chuck Hagel, a former senator and defense secretary, said that Trump "failed America" in the press conference.

Hannity also revisited a question that came up during the news conference - whether or not the Russians had compomising information on him. Trump's United States opponents tried, in turn, to gain traction for the sarcastic hashtag lampooning his reluctance to criticise the Kremlin: #BAF (Blame America First).

Think of how extraordinary - how unprecedented - that moment was.

As one of our loyal readers, we ask you to be our partner. The US president said that the bilateral meetings had gotten off to a "very good start", after both leaders met for more than two hours behind closed doors, with only translators present. I have President Putin; he just said it's not Russian Federation.

Putin said both countries considered it "necessary" to further work together on many issues, including extension of the Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty, the unsafe situation surrounding the development of elements of the global system of American missile defense, and the implementation of the Treaty on the Elimination of Intermediate-Range and Shorter-Range Missiles as well as avoiding weapons being placed in space.

We are not going to let Putin's annexation of Crimea or aid to pro-Russian rebels in Ukraine prevent us from working on a rapprochement and a partnership with him, Trump is saying.

Trump's 2013 trip to Moscow is only the tip of a Titanic-size iceberg. Jeff Flake, a Mormon and BYU graduate, didn't hold back on his condemnation of Trump.

The speculation, while hardly conclusive, is entirely reasonable. "As I said today and many times before, 'I have GREAT confidence in MY intelligence people", he tweeted from the presidential plane, somewhere in the air above the Atlantic Ocean, flying away from the dark night encroaching from the East.

His scepticism drew a quick formal statement - nearly a rebuttal - from Mr Trump's director of national intelligence, Dan Coats.

Every week lends further credence to that disturbing hypothesis.

Some US politicians had called for the summit to be cancelled after 12 Russian military intelligence agents were indicted last week by US special counsel Robert Mueller, accused of hacking the presidential campaign of Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton. "The nuclear problem, we have to make sure, we have to be very careful and you know if you look at Russian Federation and the United States that's 90 percent of the nuclear weapons", Trump said.

Trump's enablers tried to dismiss his words as a big joke, but the GRU seems to have taken them as a "tasker".

While the Trump administration played down prospects for "concrete deliverables" to come out of the meeting, there was some speculation that, following a recent meeting between Putin and Netanyahu, a "grand bargain" between Washington and Moscow on Syria is in the works.

Rather, when pressed about the verdict of his own intelligence chiefs, Trump stressed that Putin had delivered a "powerful" denial of any Russian vote meddling and said the U.S. investigation by special counsel Robert Mueller had been a "disaster" for the United States.

Sean Hannity, a close ally of President Trump, praised his performance at the close of the Helsinki summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin. "I will say this, I don't see any reason why it would be [Russia]", said Trump, continuing to emphasize the importance of the DNC servers.

In a later interview with Fox News, Mr Putin said it was "utterly ridiculous" that some people thought Russian Federation could have influenced the USA elections.

Mr Trump added they had discussed disagreements between their countries "at length", and accepted that relations between them have never been worse.

Trump's decision to side with Putin left a wake of confusion and outrage in the US. If he is waging a trade war on China's dictator, why is he cosying up to Russia's dictator?

The US ambassador to Russia, Jon Huntsman Jr., says it's time to move forward from the election tampering. And the United States political world - and even the White House's own communications team - is unsettled.

Some wanted Trump to emulate Nikita Khrushchev, who blew up the Paris summit in May 1960 over a failed USA intelligence operation - the U-2 spy plane shot down over the Urals just weeks earlier. "They never paid any taxes - neither in Russian Federation or the United States and yet the money escaped the country". He denounced the federal investigation into Russian interference efforts as a "disaster for our country".

So what does that make his boss?

In the United Kingdom, the Guardian splashed on a picture of Trump and Putin's Helsinki handshake with the headline "Nothing short of treasonous: Trump accused over Putin talks".
