Storms move out of state, severe storm threat for Tuesday

One more day of heat and humidity remains until we see changes to the forecast. Severe storms are not expected but locally heavy, potentially flooding rains and wind gusts to 50 miles per hour will be possible at times. Highs will be slightly cooler, upper 80s-low 90s. Morning temperatures will range in the lower 70s.

We are welcoming scattered rainfall this Sunday morning because rain totals are trending about two inches below average from June 1!

Thunderstorms are more likely to happen on Tuesday, as a cold front approaches the state from the west.

Our WBZ-TV weather team has declared Tuesday a Storm Watch Weather Alert day in response to a strong cold front which will be moving through the area late in the day. Otherwise, it's going to be a warm and muggy night with overnight lows in the mid 70s.
