Stormy Daniels Arrested After Performing in Ohio Strip Show

Police alleged Daniels pressed her breasts into the face of a patron who turned out to be an undercover officer and also fondled two other patrons, landing her in jail for violating an OH law that prohibits an employee who regularly appears nude or seminude from touching patrons on the premises of a sexually oriented business.

Stormy Daniels, the adult film star who alleges Trump's lawyer paid her $130,000 to keep quiet about an affair she had with the President in 2006, was arrested in OH on Wednesday night, TMZ reports.

Avenatti, Daniels' awyer, took to Twitter early Thursday, calling the arrest "a setup & politically motivated".

After the performance of her "Make America Horny Again" show, Daniels was arrested by undercover officers, Avenatti said. Columbus police said they have made numerous arrests based on this law since last fall when authorities "were made aware" of illegal activity at adult entertainment clubs in the city.

The state of OH moved to dismiss the case because it did "not have probable cause to proceed on any of the three charges set forth in the complaints", according to scanned court documents that Avenatti posted to social media. She is scheduled to appear in court on Friday morning. She had been charged with three counts of violating statute 2907.40 (C)(2) (also known as the Community Defense Act), which prohibits dancers from touching patrons.

Avenatti claimed the arrest was a politically-motivated "sting operation".

A prosecutor's memo provided by Avenatti says an OH illegal touching law can't be enforced because Daniels has only appeared once at the Columbus club.

Here's What the Key Senators Think About Brett Kavanaugh Right Now
According to the Associated Press , "Kavanaugh is likely to be more conservative than Justice Kennedy on a range of social issues. Republicans changed the Senate's rules a year ago to allow them to confirm a Supreme Court justice with a simple majority vote.

Avenatti continued to call the incident a "ridiculous" and "absurd use of law enforcement resources". "There has to be a better goal for such resources".

A Columbus police spokeswoman did not immediately respond to a message seeking comment from the Associated Press.

Another officer in the back of the club went to get backup before arresting Daniels, who was released on bond early Thursday.

"We are highly confident that in the unlikely event that the district attorney proceeds with charges that she will be found not guilty", Avenatti said.

Stormy Daniels was released after posting bail. Avenatti tweeted. "Are you kidding me? We will fight all bogus charges", Avenatti wrote. But according to a Columbus Dispatch article in Sept, 2017 the law has rarely been used since then.

The article quoted the Franklin County Sheriff's office as saying in the decade since the law was enacted, it had never had "any complaints or reasons to apply" it. No times are listed for her performances and a representative of Platinum Plus would only say they are at night.
