Coast Guard searching for cruise ship crew member reported overboard near Cuba

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security is reporting that a Carnival cruise ship rescued a crew member today who went overboard on a Norwegian Cruise Line ship yesterday.

It happened shortly before 3:30 p.m. Saturday almost 30 miles northwest of Pinar del Rio.

"We are also extremely grateful to Carnival Cruise Line and send our deepest thanks to the crew of Carnival Glory".

Passengers on board the Norwegian Cruise Line ship said staff onboard the other vessel could be seen using binoculars to try and locate the man, CBS Miami reported. "They turned the ship around and started heading back home again".

LeBron James gets a king-sized welcome to Lakers on social media
His free agency has been under intense speculation since the Cavs lost the finals in four games to the Warriors on June 8. Stephenson would be an interesting addition to the core players that the Lakers already have.

What Lakers will try to do now after LeBron James coup
James has a handful of people close to him that he really trusts and outside of them, everyone is being kept in the dark, mostly. Former Cleveland Cavaliers superstar LeBron James will sign with the Los Angeles Lakers , per his agency, Klutch Sports.

The Coast Guard has stated that the yet to be named crew member is in a stable condition but an investigation into what happened is ongoing.

"This is nothing short of miraculous", says Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line.

Planes and a ship scoured more than 4200sqkm in the Gulf of Mexico but the operation was called off by nightfall, with the missing crew member presumed dead, 7News Miami reports. The Glory headed for Cozumel as its seven-day cruise continued. "We had a Coast Guard cutter join the search".

"The Carnival Glory had found someone in the water waving their arms and they rescued him and he was the missing Norwegian crewmember and that was roughly about 21 miles north of Cuba", said U.S. Coast Guard spokesman Jonathan Lally. "Kudos to the Carnival Glory team for this awesome effort to rescue a fellow seafarer".
