Griezmann snubs Barcelona to stay at Atletico Madrid

Now it's official: Antoine Griezmann will continue at Atletico Madrid and will not sign for FC Barcelona.

Despite being booed by a section of them last month, Atletico fans seem pretty pleased with the news in the wake of the signing of Thomas Lemar and Jose Giminez's new deal.

But that did not stop the 27-year-old being part of a television programme, entitled "The Decision" to give updates over his future.

Griezmann took to Twitter and conveyed the message "My fans, my team, MY HOME!" in Spanish, French and English along with a video in which he is seen walking around Madrid as the Amanda Delara song "We Don't Run From Anyone" plays. At Barcelona, I would just be one more.

However, Griezmann - whose brace against Marseille secured a Europa League triumph for Diego Simeone's side in May - has elected to stay put, committing his future to Atleti as they look to secure a Champions League title.

Sultan declares Friday 2018 Eid-el-fitr day
The Islamic year runs on a lunar calendar, making each month depending on the cycle of the moon as to when it begins and ends. The statement asked all and sundry to observe the day as such throughout the country.

It bore an uncanny resemblance to the notorious Lebron James documentary "The Decision", a TV special aired when James announced he was leaving the Cleveland Cavaliers for Miami Heat.

Griezmann received boos on Atletico's final game of the season, despite leading the club to Europa League glory.

"'Let's talk a little bit', he told me".

The France forward then said on Tuesday at a news conference that a decision had been reached but it "is not the time" to reveal what it was.

His "decision" behind him, Griezmann can now focus on the World Cup with France. "This is going to make a difference".
