Neal Boyd, ‘America’s Got Talent’ Season 3 Winner, Dies at 42

Former 'America's Got Talent' victor Neal E Boyd has died, at the age of 42.

The pop opera singer's cause of death was heart failure, but there will not be an autopsy to confirm.

Boyd, who was an opera singer and who'd released the album American Dream in 2009 after his AGT win, had reportedly been seeing multiple doctors for his health. His post-Talent career included an album, My American Dream, and performances for multiple USA presidents.

Boyd, who appeared in season 3 of the United States talent competition, passed away in Sikeston, Missouri home.

Boyd also ran unsuccessfully as a Republican for a southeast Missouri House of Representatives seat, losing in the general election in 2012 and in the primary in 2014.

Boyd was just 42 years old.

According to TMZ, just previous year Neal was involved in a serious accident after he "blacked out" while driving.

"You never know what's going to happen next. I shattered a lot of bones, and shattered my hip, which has left me nearly unable to use that leg for now", Boyd told the Southeast Missourian in February. "When God's given you the time to rebuild your spirit and rebuild your body", the singer said. The two were rushed to hospital at the time, with TMZ claiming that both Neal and his mother had been "slowly recovering" since then.
