New Whitney Houston Documentary Alleges Sexual Abuse

A documentary on the life of Whitney Houston claims that the late American singer was sexually molested by her cousin during her childhood.

"There were times when I looked up to God and I'd go, 'Why is this happening to me?' People think it's so easy and it's not". She knew nothing about it.

Director Kevin Macdonald said in an interview with Vanity Fair that the accusation first came to his attention when Whitney's brother, Gary, said on-camera that he attributes his addiction issues to "being molested by a female family member".

Houston died at the age of 48 on February 11, 2012, by accidentally drowning in a bathtub following a heart attack brought on after years of substance abuse.

Dee Dee Warwick - 18 years older than Miss Houston - became addicted to drugs and died aged 63 in 2008.

The documentary, which has been approved by the Whitney Houston estate, also contains unheard recordings, behind-the-scenes video footage, home videos and original interviews.

The film, Whitney, is directed by Scottish filmmaker Kevin Macdonald.

Senate votes to overturn FCC, reinstate net neutrality
Critics, including the Trump administration, said over-regulation was stifling innovation. "But we're just getting started". A recent poll showed that 83 percent of Americans do not approve of the FCC action to repeal net neutrality rules.

"There was something about her discomfort in her own skin, something about the way she presents or hides herself, her lack of overt sexuality", Macdonald told the publication.

"Shortly after thinking that, someone did tell me off the record about being told by Whitney about being abused, and it being one of the central reasons behind her self-torture", he continued. She seemed kind of asexual in a unusual way.

It seems the producers held nothing back and dove deep into Houston's life to answer long-standing questions about her drug use, her turbulent marriage, and her relationship with Robyn Crawford who is referred to as her "safety net" in the trailer. And I thought that was a very odd thing, and it kind of reminded me of people I'd seen who had suffered from abuse, just in their body language and their sense of holding something back. and then somebody mentioned it off-camera to me. She was a handsome woman, but she was never particularly sexy. And I thought that was interesting.

The Guardian has contacted representatives of the Warwick family for comment on the allegations.

"Whitney", which is to be released in theaters July 7, suggests that the alleged incidents of abuse took place while Cissy Houston was touring.
