BSF foils infiltration bid in J&K's Mangu Chak area

A Border Security Force (BSF) constable was martyred in a ceasefire violation by Pakistan along the International Border (IB) in Jammu's Samba sector on Monday night.

The killed soldier was identified as constable Devendra Singh.

The firing began when troopers of Manguchack post, 173 Battalion BSF, noticed suspicious movements ahead of a fence, closer to IB, and fired few illumination rounds to clear visibility.

Constable Singh, who was hit by a bullet, later succumbed to his injuries in hospital. Five militants were seen through High Sensitive Thermal Imaging (HSTI). "We will track and neutralise them soon", said KK Sharma, Director General (DG) of BSF.

"Two infiltration attempts were made along the global border since Sunday night".
