YouTube 'Take a Break' Feature Rolling Out on Android Devices

After you have selected the topic, YouTube will show you a notification to take a break from watching videos.

Google has added a new feature that aims to keep you productive and stop wasting time watching videos on YouTube.

YouTube also has a "time watched profile" in the line which is said to provide an insight to the users about their viewing habits.

The Take a Break and other notification features are available in the latest version (13.17.55) of the YouTube app. Well, that feature has just started rolling out to YouTube's Android app. There you could see the new feature with Remind me to take a break. A user can now see daily average video surfing time, the amount of time spent watching YouTube on the current day, yesterday along with the insight on the same for past seven days. The new feature will enable the users to set a reminder for every 15, 30, 60, 90 or 180 minutes, at which point the video will pause and users will receive "Take a Break" notification that they have been binge-watching videos for longer than they chose to. The Take a Break feature can be accessed by going to Settings General, and the notifications feature is available at Settings Notifications.

As a part of Google's 'Digital Wellbeing' initiative which the company announced with Android P, this app is first of its kind to receive a feature like this. What we could suggest is, wait for a couple of more days.
