Ed Sheeran 'in talks to join Danny Boyle's musical Beatles-themed comedy'

Meanwhile, Ed is in talks to make an appearance in Danny Boyle's upcoming music-themed comedy movie.

Hot off the presses comes news this morning that superstar musician Ed Sheeran is set to join the Richard Curtis scripted and Danny Boyle directed musical comedy now in development. Sheeran isn't new to acting - he appeared on Game of Thrones and in the last Bridget Jones's Diary movie, wile he also showed up on TV series The Bastard Executioner and Home And Away. Lily James, Himesh Patel (BBC's EastEnders, Damned) and Kate McKinnon star in the new one, with Ed Sheeran also set to join. An unnamed source close to the studio behind the movie told the Daily Mail, "Everything Ed touches turns to gold".

Tentatively titled All You Need is Love, it is about a struggling musician who believes he is the only person who can remember the songs of the Beatles.

It appears to be an appropriate venture for the "Shape of You" singer, who has not only made fans of Sir Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr themselves, but also happens to be good friends with "Love Actually" writer Richard Curtis.

Universal is eyeing a summer shoot for the project, which will roll out in theaters two months before the next James Bond film, which is set to open November 8, 2019.
