Samsung's new Galaxy phone has no online connectivity

Well, er, Samsung is with its latest smartphone that can't connect to the internet.

If the speculation is correct, the Note 9 could become one of the best devices ever for battery life. In November a year ago, a report from Korean site The Investor claimed that Samsung was developing the Note 9 under the codename "Crown".

Unlike the iPhone X, the device also features curved panels on its front and back, and a dual-lens rear-facing camera. For those who're not aware, Baikal is one of the largest lakes in Europe and Russian Federation.

There have been plenty of rumors about the Galaxy Note 9. After all, the flagship is likely going to compete with Apple's 2018 iPhone X and Huawei's next Mate smartphone.

KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claims the Galaxy Note 9 would not feature an in-display fingerprint solution because Samsung is still experiencing "technological difficulties" with the feature. The handset will use two different processors - a Snapdragon 845 chipset and Samsung's own Exynos processor - depending upon the market. Samsung's mobile business head DJ Koh has told media that the Galaxy Note 9 would come with an upgraded Bixby 2.0 AI assistant. Of course, the Note 9 will be accompanied by an improved S Pen stylus. However, there is no clarity on whether we would see the display notch on the Galaxy S9 or Galaxy S10 (Galaxy X).

Regarding their screen size, the Samgung Galaxy S9 has a 5.8-inch screen while the S9+ has a 6.2-inch screen. Last year's Galaxy Note 8 had a 3,300mAh battery. Custom designs are also on offer here, with every model having reinforced edges that contain uneven lines of what appears to be silicon and look like crystal waves when observing the Galaxy S9 or Galaxy S9 Plus from upfront.

"Crown" is the name for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 9, according to the latest tweet from Evan Blass, a star leaker. There's still some doubt here. A new patent published by Samsung points to this possibility, as the patent implies that the fingerprint scanner will occupy one fifth of the screen at the bottom.

The Korean company's choice for the Galaxy Note 9 codename looks interesting because codenames tend to serve as subtle indicators of Samsung's plans.
