Elon Musk debuts Boring Company's $500 flamethrower

In a series of social media posts, the Tesla and SpaceX CEO promoted the flamethrower with truly freaky claims, including "great for roasting nuts" and "guaranteed to liven up any party".

Musk's Boring Company is literally a company focused on tunnel boring, but it seems like it'll be a while before it has revenue or significant results (even if it's already digging test tunnels). On Christmas Eve, after selling said 50,000 hats, he tweeted that the flamethrowers were coming "soon!".

Entering the correct password uncovers a storefront where customers can pre-order The Boring Company's $600 flamethrower, which looks like a standard Airsoft rifle that's been modified to shoot flames.

Say what you will about Elon Musk, the eccentric South African inventor is certainly a man of his word.

The Boring Co. also sells a fire extinguisher, because they know how to make an upsell with specific relevance, and it's $30, which they fully admit is more than you'd pay elsewhere.

As a reminder, this region has been under siege by the Syrian regime and allied militias since 2013. NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg defended Turkey's military action but urged caution.

The flamethrower can be ordered on The Boring Company's website, and those who are eager drop $500 on one better act fast, as there are only 20,000 available. "Works against hordes of the undead or your money back!"

Elon then shared a villainous video of himself firing up the flamethrower while standing in front of a giant picture of planet Earth, laughing and running towards the camera operator.

The Boring Company, first drummed up by Musk in December 2016 after a particularly soul-crushing bout with L.A. traffic, was founded to find a quick and cost-effective way to dig networks of tunnels for vehicles and high-speed trains.

But some on social media are speculating this is a mere April Fool's joke, considering the flamethrower is expected to ship in spring. We're pretty sure he just did.
