According to reports from The Washington Post, Trump allegedly referred to El Salvador and Haiti as "s***hole countries" during a heated meeting at the White House on Thursday.

Africans and Haitians come from "shithole" countries?

In Haiti, on the eighth anniversary of a devastating natural disaster that killed about 220,000 people, the government also summoned the top usa diplomat for an explanation, while the Haitian ambassador to Washington called for an apology.

El Salvador's foreign ministry said the USA president had "implicitly" accepted the use of "harsh terms detrimental to the dignity of El Salvador and other countries".

Mr Trump's comments are extremely offensive to South Africa, said Jessie Duarte, a senior official with the ruling African National Congress. "She said what people need to do-black and brown people need to do-is pick up the phone and start calling the airlines and saying, 'Book me a ticket to S-hole'".

Meanwhile, on Fox News, primetime host Tucker Carlson vociferously defended the president's reported comment.

Ah, so it's not that Trump is opposed to all immigration, just immigration from people who aren't white.
