He said when Zengotita-Torres tried to fight back she was beaten unconscious.

Ramos-Rivera and Montes kept on utilizing Zengotita-Torres' cards after they dumped her body, provoking experts to stake out ATMs in the zone.

Three suspects are in custody for the kidnapping and murder of a Florida woman in what authorities say was a murder-for-hire orchestrated by a jilted lover.

The victim was identified as Janice Marie Zengotita-Torres, 42, of Kissimmee, a city in central Florida's Osceola County, just south of Orlando.

Speaking of the incident, Russ Gibson, Osceola County Sheriff said: "Even after accused hit team Alexis Ramos and Glorianmarie Quinones Montes realized they had the wrong woman, they still continued with their plan of murder", the New York Post reported.

The suspects spotted Zengotita-Torres as she left a store at a shopping center where she worked in Osceola County late Sunday night.

Rivera allegedly beat Torres while her head was covered.

Janice Zengotita-Torres, 42, was leaving a Ross Dress for Less near Kissimmee last Sunday night when the suspected contract killers - Alexis Ramos-Rivera, 22, and his girlfriend Glorianmarie Quinones Montes - followed her home and forced Zengotita-Torres into the back of her own vehicle and drove her to an apartment near The Mall at Millenia in Orlando. "This mother, this wife, this daughter, for no reason at all", Sheriff Russell Gibson told the news station.

Investigators believe Zengotita-Torres, the married mother of a 14-year-old boy, was kidnapped and killed instead of the intended victim. They then drove to a nearby bank where they allegedly withdrew money from the woman's account using her ATM card, according to the sheriff's office.

Sheriff Gibson said, "However, the suspects continued with their plan of murder, and tied the victim with the zip ties and then her head in duct tape and garbage bags". After questioning, Lopez-Ramos gave a full confession to authorities and revealed the location of the other two suspects who were then arrested.

All three of the people involved have been charged with first degree murder.

Lopez Ramos is facing a first-degree murder charge.

The woman who was the intended target of the murder-for-hire plot has been notified about the scheme against her but has denied protective services, deputies said.
