FromSoftware's original Dark Souls is getting a remaster later this year, letting everyone practice their rolling and get used to the unforgiving combat in high definition. The game will also feature multiplayer support for up to six concurrent players.

Dark Souls: Remastered launches on May 25th, 2018, for PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.

Kotaku UK is reporting that it has heard from "multiple sources" that Dark Souls 1 is getting a remastered version.

Quite a bit of news dropped today with the Nintendo Direct Mini, and Nintendo made sure to save the best for last. From Software has been very open about not having plans for more Dark Souls content, but this evidently doesn't apply to remasters.

The port is developed by From Software and will be capable of running at upscaled 4K resolutions and at 60fps on PS4 Pro and Xbox One X. This will be the first time Dark Souls will be given the remastered treatment, updating the game not only for the PC but for current generation consoles. Exclusive to Playstation 4, the Trilogy Box set is pretty exorbitant and includes pretty much everything you'd ever need as a Souls fan. The Nintendo Switch version runs the game at 1080p and 30fps in TV mode and 720p and 30fps for Handheld Mode.

There's also reports that Electronic Arts is planning to release a port of Fe on Nintendo Switch.
