HBO's Fahrenheit 451 Adaptation Looks Pretty Badass

HBO started working on a modern film adaptation of Ray Bradbury's classic novel Fahrenheit 451 more than a year ago.

Jordan ("Black Panther", "The Wire") and Michael Shannon ("Man of Steel", "Boardwalk Empire") star in the new version of Bradbury's 1953 novel about a future where books are outlawed. The movie has no release date yet, but stars Michael B. Jordan (of Creed and Fruitvale Station) as Montag and Michael Shannon as his fire captain, Beatty.

The trailer itself doesn't actually feature any footage from the movie itself but does give us a great idea of what we can expect, with the trailer featuring the dark imagery of books and knowledge set aflame.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, HBO's Fahrenheit 451 will be along sometime this spring.

Finally, we have a photo of Sofia Boutella as Clarisse, an informant who "gets caught between the competing interests of Montag and Beatty".

Liverpool to offer career-long contact to Firmino
RB Leipzig have shot down rumours that Naby Keïta could complete his move to Liverpool six months earlier than expected. In training on Thursday in Leipzig, Keita was involved in a long conversation with the team psychologist.

Directed by Ramin Bahrani (99 Homes) and written by Bahrani & Amir Naderi (Vegas: Based on a True Story), the film is based on Ray Bradbury's classic novel of the same name, depicting a future where the media is an opiate, history is rewritten and "firemen" burn books.

Bahrani went on to explain that initially he had lots of difficulty with the adaptation, even confessing "that he told his agent at one point that he should call HBO and refund the network's money because he felt that he couldn't finish the script". "I think we've been going in that direction for a long time, it's just now kind of being revealed to us more clearly". In the film, Guy not only is responsible for burning books, but also shutting down the people resisting the anti-knowledge government by uploading books to the Internet. Between the technological advancements in the last 20 years and politics, Bradbury's biggest concern about the erosion of culture is now.

"Will we actually get ahead of the dam, or will it just be a flood and up to some other generation to bring back all of Bradbury's heroes?"

"I have always loved Ray Bradbury's prophetic novel Fahrenheit 451", said Bahrani.
