Bears' Rhule interviewed for Colts

Looks like he'll be sticking it out. According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Rhule has pulled himself out of consideration for the Colts head coaching job. They've quietly been building a nice recruiting class, now ranking as the No. 30 team for the 2018 cycle on Rivals.

Matt Rhule intends to remain head coach at Baylor, rebuffing "serious interest" from the Indianapolis Colts, who interviewed the first-year Bears coach last week.

Rhule clearly wants to stay at Baylor and learn the ropes of major college football a bit more.

On Thursday, Baylor athletic director Mack Rhoades appeared for his weekly segment with ESPN Central Texas, confirming that Rhule isn't going anywhere anytime soon. Despite seeing Baylor put up a disastrous 2017 campaign, Rhule is widely respected within the coaching community.

Rhule, 42, recently completed the first year of his seven-year contract at Baylor University, where the Bears finished with an abysmal 1-11 record. Rhule's style of coaching would translate well in the National Football League, but would the coach of the Baylor Bears want the pressure of fixing a broken franchise with an owner who is well-known for public intoxication and bad business decisions?
