Turkey 'Summons Top US Diplomat' Over Syria Kurd Forces

Turkey has labeled the YPG a terrorist organization over its alleged ties to an ongoing Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) insurgency at home. If Abu al-Duhur falls, the resistance-controlled Idlib province shall be cut in half, and its eastern more arid part could soon be fully captured by al-Assad's supporters, while its western half could end up under an increasingly severe siege. The Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu also called out Russian Federation and Iran to stick to the joint accord they signed with Turkey previous year agreeing on a "de-escalation zone" in Idlib which were set up to scale back the conflict.

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan says the USA is trying Turkey's patience by supporting and arming terrorists from the YPG (Kurdish People's Protection Units) and the PYD (Kurdish Democratic Union Party).

Ankara has therefore called on Russian Federation and Iran, and rightly so, to cease and desist from their active and open aggression and military involvement in the fighting in the Idlib province and summoned their ambassadors in Ankara for this objective. In 2017, to prevent Turkish-backed forces from overtaking Manbij, the U.S. deployed its Special Forces in town, while a small Russian Special Operations team appeared in Afrin, apparently for the same reason-to keep the Turks at bay. In other words, the perpetrators of the drone attacks were not local rebels under Turkey's supervision.

The reports say that Syrian government forces, supported by Russian Federation were trying to regain control of areas controlled by Daesh and other rebel groups.

OR descends into madness, forces citizens to pump their own gas
I will literally park at the pump and wait until someone pumps my gas. "I don't want to smell like gas", one person wrote. OR passed legislation loosening the rules back in May, and the change finally went into effect on January 1.

The three countries had agreed previous year to establish a "de-escalation zone" in the opposition-held Idlib province and surrounding region, which borders Turkey.

"The operation is to hit the belly of the regime deep into liberated territories and to encircle their advancing forces", said Abdul Hakim al Rahamon, a senior official in Jaish al Nasr, an FSA faction taking part.

The Turkish government said the Idlib offensive was endangering the effort to reach a resolution of the conflict and accused the Syrian government of using the pretext of fighting militants to wage a wide scale attack.

The home-made drones reportedly had Global Positioning System homing devices and altitude-meters to guide them to the Russian bases.
