Former Dem rep fired by Morgan Stanley denies harassment allegations

The woman alleges Ford continued to contact her after the incident, and she eventually requested he cease doing so, according to HuffPost.

Former Democratic congressman and MSNBC mainstay Harold Ford Jr. was sacked on Thursday by Morgan Stanley after he was accused of "harassment, intimidation, and forcibly" grabbing a woman several years ago, according to HuffPost.

Ford gave a lengthier statement to HuffPost that can be read in full below.

At the time Morgan Stanley announced the hire, The New York Times described Ford's role as a rainmaker of sorts: "Mr. Ford will be responsible for "building business opportunities" for clients, Morgan Stanley said".

'This simply did not happen.

The online publication also cites two interviews with the woman who accused Ford in the incident that she says happened several years ago. While this woman did not work for the financial firm, various witnesses have corroborated her claims about Ford's inappropriate behavior towards her. Morgan Stanley confirmed to HuffPost that Ford was terminated for his alleged misconduct.
