DC Movie Producer Jon Berg Exits Warner Bros., Joins Roy Lee Banner

The corporate leaders at Time Warner are not too pleased with how Justice League performed at the box office, and as such are reportedly in favor of the reorganization.

He has joined Lego Movie producer Roy Lee's production banner, which is based on the studio's Burbank lot. Apparently Berg approached the studio six months ago about the idea, stating he always ultimately wanted to just be a producer at the studio, not overseeing an entire division. Johns will stay as a chief creative officer with DC Entertainment, but his work on the films could be reduced to an advisory role. Is that a polite cover?

"Justice League" has grossed another $370 million in global markets, led by China with $84 million, followed by Brazil with $25 million and Mexico with $18 million.

"We're thrilled that Jon is partnering with Roy, and anticipate their company being a valuable source of movies for Warner Bros. and New Line", Emmerich said in a statement that made me wonder if Kevin Tsujihara had better things to do than address this problem... like addressing Johnny Depp's role in the studio's Fantastic Beasts franchise.

"Justice League", directed by Zack Snyder, teams up the DC characters in the same manner as Disney-Marvel's "Avengers".

Ironically, though, "Justice League" made the record of being the highest-grossing DC movie ever in China.

In terms of worldwide collections, the latest film in the DC Extended Universe has now made $569.2 million with $98.6 million from China alone. "It's a cool looking costume".

Think of today's news like ripping off a Band-Aid. Although it should be pointed out that Batman v Superman hit theaters mere weeks before Justice League began filming, so it's not like Warner Bros.re-hired Snyder after all the BvS backlash erupted-he was already deep into Justice League at that time. Someone at Warner Bros. has to realize that most of us don't want to see CGI villains like Steppenwolf, who means nothing to a majority of the audience.
