Cleveland Browns fire executive VP of football operations Sashi Brown

With Brown's departure, the franchise will be searching for a general manager for the ninth time since it returned to Cleveland in 1999.

The Browns are 0-12 this season and 1-27 since Jackson was hired in 2016.

Cleveland Browns head coach Hue Jackson (R) talks with owner Jimmy Haslam before their game against the Houston Texans, October 15, 2017, at NRG Stadium in Houston, Tx.

"I want this to be real and clear, the way I know Cleveland and Browns fans can appreciate: Our win-loss record since I became executive vice president isn't going to cut it". The 2018 draft and offseason is pivotal for our franchise, we need to ensure that we maximize our opportunity for success; with our picks, free agency and building our roster. We have begun the process of having productive conversations regarding leadership of our football operations and will provide further updates when appropriate.

Sashi Brown was promoted to executive VP /Gm after the firing of Ray Farmer.

The film notably includes "a massive twist halfway through that will irrevocably change the course of the franchise", EW reports. What a shock? "Pride is starting to get the better of him, and he is pushing the X-Men to more extreme missions", Kinberg says.

We worked hard. I am so grateful to the people I worked with throughout my four-plus years with the Browns, particularly the people I worked with the past two years.

While Brown excelled in acquiring draft picks, it appears there was a lack of confidence in his ability to capitalize on said assets.

The next GM will be the Browns' ninth since 1999, and will be the fourth leader of the front office that Haslam has hired since his purchase of the team from Randy Lerner was approved by the league's owners on October 16, 2012.

The Browns have stockpiled picks for future drafts, with six additional picks in April's draft.

However, the team's decision to pass up on drafting quarterbacks Carson Wentz and Deshaun Watson in the past two drafts may have hastened Brown's demise and Cleveland has shown little sign of improvement since Brown took over.
