Airtel ₹349 and ₹549 prepaid plans revised, here's what has changed

Airtel says the Rs 1999 combo offer is valid only through November 7 to December 31 and is offering 10% cash back to its prepaid subscribers who recharge with Mastercard. The scenario seems to be a little different for the Rs 549 plan.

So overall, under the Rs 349 plan - now - Airtel is offering 56GB data per month, unlimited calls and SMS benefits to another network. As part of Rs 459 plan, Jio offers unlimited calls (local/STD/roaming to all operators). Now Bharti Airtel has hiked data benefits under its two lucrative plans. Initially, Airtel offered 2.5 GB of data per day for 28 days to the customers. However, after you use 1GB data at 4G speeds it comes down to just 64kbps once the data limit is exhausted. Soon after, in November, the company increased the data benefits of the pack by 500MB, and started offering 1.5GB per day.

Under the Rs 199 plan, Airtel offers unlimited voice calls and 1GB data for 28 days, while the Rs 448 plan offers 1GB data per day and unlimited local, STD, and national roaming calls for 70 days.

Lena Dunham says she warned Clinton team about working with 'rapist' Weinstein

The 4G download speed on Reliance Jio network increased from 19.3 mbps at the end of August to all-time high of 21.9mbps in September, as per the data collected from users through MySpeed app of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI). Alongside the data offer, both the plans also provide unlimited voice calling benefit to any network. Jio Prime customers can avail Triple cashback of up to Rs 2500 with every recharge of Rs 399 or above done from 10th Nove to 15 Dec 2017. Other benefits are the same as the ones offered with the ₹349 plan.

Airtel is trying its level best to match up to Jio in nearly every way possible.

The move by Airtel indicates that the operator is not focused on keeping its packs ahead by a "safe distance" from Jio, like other players including Idea Cellular and Vodafone are doing. Both telcos are also offering promotional offers upon the recharge, and they both offer digital content services such as Live TV, free unlimited music service, etc.
