Trump refers to Virgin Islands governor as its 'president'

A DAY AGO, Trump's Secretary of Energy Rick Perry made a pretty big mistake when he referred to Puerto Rico as a country, when it is in fact a USA territory. These are people that are incredible people, they've suffered greatly.

President Trump made a rare understatement about the size of his portfolio Friday, when he said during a press conference that he had "met with the president of the Virgin Islands" on a trip to discuss recent hurricane damage.

As president of the United States, Donald Trump is also president of all United States territories, which consist of Puerto Rico, American Samoa, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands, all eight Minor Outlying Islands, and, yes, the U.S. Virgin Islands. "We have, really. It is not even a question of choice". Trump wasn't corrected during the event, but the speech was amended in the official White House transcript. "Trump claims he met with the president of the U.S. Virgin Islands, signaling a major breakthrough in human cloning technology", the official account for The Daily Show With Trevor Noah tweeted. Just a day before, Energy Secretary Rick Perry referred to Puerto Rico as a country during a House Energy and Commerce subcommittee hearing. Unlike Trump's gaffe, though, Perry apologized and corrected himself.

Ummm, who wants to tell him?

He was referring to how the Virgin Islands was hit first by Hurricane Irma, then Hurricane Maria, which ravaged the island. After this mistake, it's safe to assume that Trump will never go off teleprompter again.
