Gal Gadot lined up for post-World War II revenge thriller Ruin

Wonder Woman star Gal Gadot is in negotiations to star in Ruin, a post-World War II revenge thriller being made by Mad River Pictures, the company run by Marc Butan, The Hollywood Reporterhas confirmed.

By the end of next year, Gal Gadot and director Patty Jenkins will be back on the set of a Wonder Woman movie, preparing Wonder Woman 2 for an end-of-2019 release. The actress has the Wonder Woman sequel on her docket for late 2018.

Not much is known about the project except the storyline - which will follow a former Nazi captain as he travels to post-World War II Germany to make amends for his crimes by hunting down the members of the SS Death Squad that worked under him.

Kurzel is the man behind the recent Assassin's Creed movie adaptation, as well as the big-screen Macbeth, both of which starred Michael Fassbender.

Coming off her turn as Diana/Wonder Woman in the standalone film and Justice League, Gadot may be seeking a role that takes her away from superhero fantasy and into a more gritty and realistic milieu.

If Gadot does sign on for this movie, let's hope her character is front and center of the action where she belongs! Gadot has also agreed to star in Deeper with Bradley Cooper (written by Max Landis and directed by Kornel Mundruczo). Her DCEU commitments mean she is locked in to Justice League 2 and the Flash standalone Flashpoint as well as Wonder Woman 2.
