
Today Mike Laidlawannounced his departure from Bioware, where he's been involved with games including Jade Empire, Mass Effect and the entire Dragon Age series. "After 14 years and a chance to work on Jade Empire, Mass Effect and all things Dragon Age it's time for me to move on", he wrote in a statement shared on Twitter.
Laidlaw says that he's been lucky to work with so many talented and hardworking people, and that he looks forward to seeing where the studio takes the Dragon Age universe in the future.
Laidlaw first joined BioWare as the lead story developer and writer for Jade Empire, an action role-playing game that launched in 2005.

Bioware's former now director Mike Laidlaw didn't give explanations as to why he left the company, he said though that he will continue his connection with the industry through Twitch as a streamer. Laidlaw's most recent position with the company had been Creative Director on the Dragon Age series and had even let loose the news that a Dragon Age project was in the works last month.
