Trump criticises Puerto Rico, saying hurricane aid can not go on 'forever'

President Trump on Thursday warned that this administration's response to hurricane-ravaged Puerto Rico can not last "forever".

Trump was apparently referring to a "simple back-of-the-envelope calculation" from CEA chairman Kevin Hassett, who estimated in a speech last month that if USA firms didn't park their profits overseas, the jump in US corporate profits would be passed on to workers, and over eight years, "the median USA household would get a $4,000 real income raise". "We can not keep FEMA, the Military & the First Responders, who have been incredible (under the most hard circumstances) in P.R. forever!"

So when the president traveled to Puerto Rico last week to prove the haters and losers decrying his total lack of empathy wrong, it wasn't entirely surprising that his remarks there included more of the same.

Dozens of people rallied in NY last week to demand the Donald Trump administration do more to help Puerto Rico. UNICEF USA also delivered emergency supply kits to provide approximately 60,000 people with basic hygiene supplies, including water purification tablets, water buckets, soap, toothpaste, detergent, sanitary pads and more.

The tribute to Puerto Rican music and dance allowed the western Massachusetts Hispanic community to share their pride and concerns for the people of Puerto Rico. That water can be risky to people's health. "FEMA needs to stay until the job is done", Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) tweeted to Trump.

Thousands of our fellow citizens are still out there without clean water, food, communication or roads allowing them to use any available transportation.

More shipments of supplies donated by New Yorkers and a top state official are being sent to Puerto Rico, Gov. Andrew Cuomo said Tuesday. "These are great people".

"Why do you continue to treat Puerto Ricans differently than other Americans when it comes to natural disasters?"
