Doctor Abuses, Kicks Patient Out Of Clinic After Altercation

A Florida doctor was caught on cell phone video screaming at a sick patient and then kicking her out of the clinic after she complained about the long wait time.

The visibly annoyed doctor is then heard saying that it would take longer for her to be seen at another clinic or the emergency room. Stipe said she made an appointment at 6:30 p.m. and by 7:45 p.m., she was still waiting. However, till 7:45 p.m. she was not seen by the doctor despite being in severe pain and she had apparently thrown up in a trash can also. "I got seven rooms back there".

It was here that physician Peter Gallogly came barging into the clinic's lobby, where he was recorded yelling in Stipes's face. When he saw it was being recorded he snatched my baby's phone and shoved her when she tried to get it back.

Stipe stands by her story as she said: 'I don't want anybody else in my community or any other community to receive that type of care or behavior towards them'.

"Ms. Stipe had been increasingly belligerent and abusive to the office staff, cursing them and threatening them with violence, because she was unwell and had been waiting to be seen by me for more than an hour", Gallogly wrote.

Stipe said in the post she was trying to get her co-pay back so she could go home, go back to bed and be seen by another doctor the next day.

"Are you kidding me?" the doctor asks, his voice raised. "You know this was uncalled for & for those of you who don't and are being rude and hateful to me and my child".

"I want to go home and get in my bed", she replied as he told her to "get the hell out". "Go to the ER and wait for nine hours".

"Get the [expletive] out of my office", he screams.

He opened the door while continuing to tell Stipe to leave and then noticed her daughter was recording. She noted that, though the police were there, they were unable to press charges because she has no injury. He said that Stipe received her refund but still would not leave.

Officer Ben Tobias, a spokesman for the Gainesville Police Department, said an investigation has been launched into Gallogly's actions.

A representative from Gainesville After Hours, the clinic where the confrontation happened, declined to comment to WGFL.

Stipe posted a video of the entire episode on her Facebook page Monday night, which was viewed more than 200,000 times and shared more than 3,400 times at the time of publishing this article.
